Volunteering
with Indianola Parks and Recreation

Each year we depend on hundreds of volunteers donating thousands of hours to assist us with our programs and events, as well as with community beautification.  Volunteers are a very important part of our operation, and we would highly encourage people to contribute to our community in this capacity.  We have listed current areas for volunteering below; other opportunities may be available.

All you need is the desire and willingness to help - we will provide any necessary training.  If you already have special skills or training which could be utilized by our organization, we'd love to hear from you as well.

One-Time Volunteer Projects

Need a service project for your youth group or scout troop?  We have identified several one-time outdoor volunteer projects that can be done in as little as 1-4 hours depending on the size of your group.   From planting flowers, mulching and weed whipping, to waxing the Aquatic Center water slide or painting park shelters,  your group can help keep Indianola Parks beautiful while having fun together.

Volunteers will be recognized in our publications and on the Parks and Rec website.   Call 961-9420 or email us for details or to set up a date.
