2006 marked the 100th anniversary
of the creation of Buxton Park and the beginning of the Indianola City
Park system. In order to commemorate this historical event and in response
to a number of requests received each year to plant memorial trees in
Buxton Park, the Indianola Parks and Recreation Commissionapproved plans for the creation of a memorial garden in
Buxton Park. This beautiful and peaceful garden is an area where
past and present residents of Indianola can honor and remember family
members, friends, coworkers, classmates, and special loved ones in a
number of way.
