Indianola Parks
and Recreation Commission
The Indianola Parks and Recreation Commission has monthly
meetings on the second Wednesday of each month. All meetings are open to
the public and are held at the Activity Center at 5:30 p.m. Anyone who
would like to address the Commission needs to be put on the agenda by
calling the Parks and Recreation Department (961-9420) by the Thursday
before each meeting.
The Parks and Recreation Commission is
made up of six members from the community appointed by the Mayor and
approved by the City Council. The purpose of the Commission is to 1) set
policies; 2) advise the City Council on needed parks and recreation
programs; 3) oversee the city recreation programs and park areas; 4)
plan, acquire and develop recreation facilities, parks and open space
areas to meet future needs as the city grows.

Senior Board Members
The board is responsible for Center policy and fiscal decisions of the
Senior Center Board account. The monthly meeting is on the third Friday
of the month at 9:00 a.m. Meetings are open to the public.

Parks and Recreation Foundation
A 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation established in 1995 to encourage gifts
and raise funds to assist with the development, maintenance and
enhancement of Indianola community recreation programs, facilities and
public parks. For information on project funding call 961-9420.
